Recently we received feedback from a customer that Datacus is saving them hours of time per week. As the customer explained, each day, they would manually transfer inventory information out of QuickBooks and up to their website. Now the data is updated automatically each night. Datacus now has the ability to automatically establish your SSH tunnel. This is great for folks that want to get data out of their servers, but don’t have VPNs set up to access them. Using this feature, you can keep your data secure, while making it accessible to your team.
Here’s how it works: you set up a firewall on your server to make sure that no one can connect to your database using ODBC drivers. You then set up an account with SSH access – careful not to give them a shell (command line access). Then you set up your tunnel and ta-da…only you can access your data!
